iTerm2 Status Bar

The status bar feature in iTerm2 offers a clean interface to display up-to-date information about the current working environment, including scriptable interactions when needed.

Setup the status bar by entering Preferences -> Profile -> Session -> Configure Status Bar:

Add the appropriate components to display or configure. I tend to use the terminal when troubleshooting performance issues on my MacBook. In this example, we enable battery, cpu, memory, and network statistics to aid in troubleshooting:
